In 1974 the Carpenters released this single from their latest album, though that album had already been out for two years. Perhaps we could put that up to a marketing idea. At first it only reached number 70 on the Billboard charts, but after thousands of spins it started climbing the charts. And somehow all these years later it's one of their most memorable songs.
You might know it more by the words of the melody than from the title of the song ...
