The Beatles - Hard Day's Night

With such an odd turn of phrase in it's very title, somehow we all know exactly what a "Hard Day's Night" feels like. Below are the guitar chords and the riffs for the song.

It also includes that magic chord at the very beginning, the legendary chord that nobody is exactly sure what it is. I feel pretty certain it's a Gsus4/D. (That means it's a G chord, with the 4 added, but with D in the bass.) We're not really sure exactly how they played it because there may be some other instruments embedded in the recording. If you have two guitars in your band, have one person play it xx0013, and the other person bar the third fret to get 355533. Together it sounds accurate as I can get it.

The Beatles - Hard Day's Night

Gsus4/D HOLD (xx0013 or 355533)

            G C G F G
It's been a hard day's night, and I've been working like a dog,
            G C G F G
It's been a hard day's night, I should be sleeping like a log,
            C D
But when I get home to you, I find the things that you do,
              G C7 G
Will make me feel alright.

            G C G F G
You know I work all day, to get you money to buy you things,
         G C G
And it's worth it just to hear you say,
         F G
  you're gonna give me everything.

                    C D
So why on earth should I moan, 'cause when I get you alone,
              G C7 G
You know I'll be okay.

         Bm Em Bm
When I'm home, everything seems to be right;
         G Em C7 D7
When I'm home, feeling you holding me tight, tight, yeah.

            G C G F G
It's been a hard day's night, and I've been working like a dog,
            G C G F G
It's been a hard day's night, I should be sleeping like a log,
            C D

              G C7 G
