I'm starting a new series of live guitar lessons on Youtube and for the first one, I examined the fantastic guitar intro to Janis Joplin's "Piece of My Heart." I've always loved playing this intro. There's so much for us to learn from it too.
The tab below shows what we wrote out in the first video (we will cover the rest in the next video that will be out shortly).
Try to learn how we made the solo, not just read the numbers. We see that he used the same chord/arpeggio shape over several chords: the A, B, C#m and the D. That's a lot of use out of one shape on the fretboard.
Second Part
